March 22-26, 2010:  This mini-fellowship in Evidence-Based Medicine in Geriatrics provides participants with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of EBM and learn how to apply EBM principles in the context of geriatrics education.

The mini-fellowship is presented in connection with an annual workshop titled "Teaching and Leading EBM: A Workshop for Teachers and Champions of Evidence-Based Medicine" which is sponsored by Duke's Division of General Internal Medicine. Medical educators and clinicians participate in this innovative four-day workshop designed to help enhance their EBM skills, and to develop specific strategies for teaching EBM at their home institutions.  The Teaching and Leading EBM Workshop is intended for people with some specific interest or experience with Evidence-Based Medicine who plan to become champions at their home institutions.

Before applying for the Mini-fellowship Program, please visit the following website for more information about the Teaching and Leading EBM Workshop: http://www.mclibrary.duke.edu/training/courses/ebmworkshop/

During this mini-fellowship, participants receive intensive training in the incorporation of evidence-based medicine into their geriatrics clinical practice and teaching.  Scholars are full participants in the “Teaching and Leading EBM” workshop and receive additional geriatrics-specific break-out sessions and mentoring from mini-fellowship faculty.

Scholars receive one-on-one mentoring with Duke Geriatrics Education faculty, and continued follow-up mentoring and support during the year after the mini-fellowship.

Please email the program office at geri.education@mc.duke.edu or call 919-660-7577 to receive an application for the 2010 program.
